The four–floor structure consists of three "U" shaped pods joined around a central core space which is linked to the existing hospital building. The exterior of the pods feature extensive use of glass, affording patients and visitors a scenic view of the Metroparks Valley. The pod design offers enhanced visibility and efficient proximities between nursing stations and patient rooms that improves nursing surveillance and allows nurses to spend more time with their patients. The private room designs maximize the availability of beds and eliminate unnecessary transfers.
